El Schalke 04 ha hecho oficial a través de su página web el fichaje de Christian Wetklo, quién se encontraba sin equipo tras rescindir su vinculación con el SV Darmstadt 98, con el que el cancerbero de 34 años había llegado a un acuerdo este mismo verano.
El veterano portero germano militó durante casi 15 años en el Mainz 05, y se ha comprometido con el conjunto de Gelsenkirchen hasta junio de 2015. El pasado curso tan solo jugó 3 partidos.
